J. Goodman, retired from Stanford where she taught Positive Psychology. For several years J. specifically taught a class on forgiveness -- the message this novel centers around. The author learned personal lessons about forgiveness that shaped this fictional story, and J. Goodman's expertise will be used to ensure that the message is appropriately sensitive and applicable for a wider audience.
Vera Vaskinova. Vera's life astonishingly mirrors that of the main character, Anika. While the novel takes place in 1917 in the Russian Revolution, Vera's life has also been uprooted by the turmoil of her Russian government. Like Anika, Vera has had to leave an affluent life and start over again with simplicity and sweat. Her inner commitments and caliber have gotten her through this time, and helped her find forgiveness in the face of betrayal. It is an honor to have this work reviewed by her.
